  • Raw Bar: Don't miss the Shrimp Cocktail, a fresh flavor explosion at just $14.00, ideal for seafood aficionados seeking a quick bite.

While the atmosphere may not be fancy, the emphasis here is on the experience of eating well. Each dish invites diners into the messy, joyous world of seafood boiling. Patrons often rave about the fun vibe of getting their hands dirty with succulent crabs and perfectly seasoned shrimp. One customer, Patricia N., highlighted the exceptional combo meal featuring king crab legs and lobster tails, appreciating its generous portions and delightful cooking.

However, not every experience is without critique. Some diners, like Billie K., felt that the establishment could benefit from a little sprucing up, and a few reviews indicate that seasoning could be more robust. Despite these points, the overall reaction remains positive, with many returning for the good prices and satisfying flavors.

A unique feature of Ugly Crab is the communal spirit of dining in. Guests are provided with bibs and gloves, encouraging a hands-on approach that makes for a memorable meal. However, if you're hesitant about the mess, as Laura S. wisely notes, coming prepared with old clothes and plenty of napkins is essential.

In conclusion, Ugly Crab is a vibrant establishment that excels in offering tasty seafood dishes in a casual setting. Whether launching into a seafood feast or nibbling on an appetizer, the flavors are sure to leave a lasting impression. If you're in Avon and in the mood for a seafood adventure, this lay-back locale promises a unique experience and delicious food that keeps diners coming back for more!

Placed an online order and when I showed up the order was ready. Once I got it home, it was hot and as ordered. I did go inside to pick up my order and noticed they had several tables. This is not a fancy place. I think the place could use a little scrubbing. As some of the tables and things looked a little outdated. I wanted to like this place better than our other seafood boil place we go to. But it just didn't hit the mark. Their seasoning needs taken up a notch.

This is the best seafood broil I've had in my entire life. And, I love seafood bro, and look for it everywhere. Plus, the price is very acceptable. Do yourself a favor and stop here.

Yummy as usual. Always a pleasure to see the ladies here. Love the Combo 2. A bit pricy but we'll worth it

Appreciate this concept in Avon, and it's a good place. It was about $140 for 3 of us (including tip) for lunch. I really enjoyed one of the combos with 1 pound king crab, 2 lobster tails, 1 pound shrimp, 4 corn, half pound of sausage, and potatoes. Everything was well-cooked and well-seasoned. Extra sides included rice and steam broccoli. Steamed rice to soak up the sauce is a must! Pay at the counter service includes all the tools you need to break into the seafood in including: bib, set of gloves, We did the Boiling Sauce which had great flavor and didn't find it to be "spicy." I'll be definitely be doing the fire next time. I noticed another guest mentioned the shrimp was deveined. That was not our case at all. They were deveined and very peel-able.

This place was saucy and seasoned! And dare I say buttery. It was so good! Crab Rangoon with a side of seafood boil! I really enjoyed eating here, the seafood boils were fun to eat and tasty and had no issues! The restaurant was clearly popular and kept a steady number of guests. There's dine in and take out. Ambiance was fine, the attention was paid to the food!

My first time eating at a restaurant like this and it was good overall. I wasn't sure what to expect, but things get MESSY. Pro tip: wear old clothes here and get your napkins (from the roll of paper towels on the table) ready before you put your gloves on and start eating. Yes, you get a bib but it doesn't cover everything. Flavor and quality of food was good (we got snow crab legs and shrimp with garlic butter), but you will smell like butter and garlic for hours afterward. I left feeling like I needed a shower. It's not really my choice to eat with my hands and get so grubby at dinner, so I probably won't go back.

I am not a novice in terms of seafood boil- we ordered for the garlic butter sauce & I am not quite impressed BUT love the size of their dungenees crab. I enjoyed the fried food more- crab rangoon & their fries! Space is clean, quiet & service is okay.
